Routine Appointments
Surgeries are by appointment and are available each day. You can choose either a face-to-face appointment or a telephone consultation.
Telephone consultations are available for booking online. Routine appointments can be booked up to two months in advance. Please call 01706 664250.
Please note that there sometimes can be a change in the pattern of doctors working days. Please enquire with the receptionist when you are booking your routine appointment.
Emergency/Urgent Surgery
We have Book on the Day appointments every weekday. These appointments are for patients with an urgent problem who cannot wait for a routine appointment. Patients booked into this surgery must see any available doctor due to limited availablity.

Extended Access
Evening and weekend appointments
Patients who are registered with an Oldham GP can now make an appointment to see a GP in the evenings, between 6:30pm and 8pm and Saturdays 09:00am until 5:00pm. This service is based at Royton Medical Centre. At your appointment the GP will be able to see some of your medical records so that they are able to advise you accurately.
Morning blood test appointments are also available at Royton Health & Wellbeing Centre between 7.30am- 8am.
If you would like to make an appointment with this service please call us and we will book you in.
Children Under 5
We aim to offer all children who are aged under 5 years old an appointment for the same day for an urgent ailment.
If you are worried about your child's symptoms please inform the receptionist when you are booking your appointment.
We realise that you may wish to book a routine appointment for your child and you may not require an urgent same day appointment, so this is can also be accommodated.
Home Visits
Please telephone 01706 644250
Where possible, we ask that a request for a home visit be made before 10.30am. Be prepared to give brief details of the problem to the receptionist to enable the doctor to assess the urgency of your call.
Please remember, visits are for people too ill to attend the surgery. It may not possible to request a specific doctor to visit. The doctor may telephone you before the home visit to discuss your condition
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you cannot attend for your appointment please let us know as soon as possible on 01706 664250 and press 1 to leave a message. The appointment can then be given to someone else. You can also cancel through the online app. We are closely monitoring patients who fail to attend for booked appointments and persistent non attenders will receive a letter from the practice which may lead to you being removed from the practice list.
You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Text Reminder Service
We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
Mobile Telephones
Please switch off all mobile telephones when you enter the building. If a mobile telephone rings during a consultation you may be asked to leave the doctor’s surgery
Training Practice
We are a training practice. Doctors from the hospital will take placements in the practice for a period of four, six or even twelve months. They are qualified doctors and the term with the practice assists in their ongoing education.
We are recognised by Manchester University as a teaching practice for medical students. It is possible that sometimes you may be asked if a medical student can be present during your consultation. If you can help in this way we are very grateful. However, if you feel uncomfortable with a student present please let us know.
