Noticeboard

Out of Hours
If you require urgent medical assistance when the practice is closed, please call 1-1-1.  All calls to the NHS 111 Service are free from both landlines and mobiles.  Your call will be triaged and advice or treatment will be arranged.

If you have a life-threatening medical emergency please dial 999.

Home Visits
Please telephone 01706 664250.  Where possible, we ask that a request for a home visit be made before 10.30am. Be prepared to give brief details of the problem to the receptionist to enable the doctor to assess the urgency of your call.

Your telephone numbers

Please could you let us know your phone/mobile number.  It is very important that we have this information in order for us to contact you if necessary.  Some of  the information we have is out of date.  We now have the facility to send SMS messages to you to remind you about appointments, and other important practice information.

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

We are constantly monitoring non attenders, and there has been an increase in the number of patients failing to attend.  If you fail to attend without informing us we will write to you.  If you repeatedly fail to attend for appointments you may be removed from the practice list and will have to find an alternative GP.

Repeat Prescriptions

PLEASE NOTE - FROM 1st JANUARY 2016 PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED BY TELEPHONE.

You can now order your repeat prescriptions on line.  Simply go to the prescriptions page and enter your information.  From August 2015, please remember to allow 48 hours for your prescription to be be prepared.  Please note, that prescriptions ordered after 5.30pm on Fridays and over the weekend, will not be processed until Monday and will therefore be ready for collection on Wednesday.   If you wish to collect your prescription from a chemist please ask the chemist to pick your prescription up from the surgery for you. The Practice does not inform the chemist, this must be done by the patient.

Nominating a Chemist

The practice now have an electronic prescription service.  You can nominate a pharmacy to receive your prescriptions electronically.  You can then collect your medications direct from the pharmacy without the need for coming to the surgery.

BLOOD TEST APPOINTMENTS

We have recently sent out invitations to patients to have a blood test and review for  a long term condition annual reviews.  We have received a very positive response to this and so we currently have a wait for blood test appointments.

In the current Pandemic situation a blood test appointment incurs a booking of 20 or 30 minutes per patient so that we can ensure appropriate infection control, PPE and control of the number of patients in the waiting room setting. Please take this into consideration if you call for an appointment.

Please also bear in mind that it is not the fault of the receptionist that they cannot offer you an earlier appointment.  We are all dealing with a very unusual situation and unfortunately this will be the case for some time.

****We will be prioritising patients who need clinically urgent bloods over routine/non-urgent bloods****

 OCB

Please click on the link above for help and advice regarding your medical condition.  Your query should be non-urgent and we will respond to you within 2 working days.

Dear Patients,

Please help us to keep services running in these difficult times for those who need it most by directing your request to the right place.

  • COVID tests – we CANNOT arrange these tests, please visit 111.nhs.uk or ring 119.
  • Isolation notes – visit 111.nhs.uk/isolation-note.
  • Surgery appointments – all initial contact appointments with the GP will be via telephone, if the doctor then needs to see you then they will arrange this with you. Also please don’t forget that our receptionists must ask you a few questions and this is for the GP’s information before they speak to you.
  • Prescriptions – as always prescriptions will be ready in 2 working days after your request. Please DO NOT call the surgery to check that this has been done. Speak to your pharmacist directly and keep our phone lines free for medical problems. If you have not signed up to a pharmacy yet or patient access then we urge you to do so. There are still a lot of patients coming to surgery just to drop a prescription off or pick one up.
  • Hospital appointments – If you are awaiting a hospital appointment and have been put on a list we have no control over the waiting times. Please DO NOT call us for the doctor to expedite this. If the GP thinks your problem is urgent then they will refer you as such.
  • Blood tests – If your hospital consultant wants you to have blood tests then please advise them that they will have to take them. At the moment due to current COVID manpower issues we are unable to carry out secondary care bloods at the surgery.

Thank you and stay safe
