You may have heard on the news that all adults over 18 are now eligible for the booster vaccination. This does not come into effect until wk begin. 6/12/21. Those patients will be sent for via the NHS through a text or letter.
We do not have capacity at the moment for all those extra patients to be seen at Royton HC, so please check out local venues on the Oldham Council website.
Booster vaccine information: 1/12/21
An NHS spokesperson said: “The NHS is having to work at extreme pace to respond to this new variant and to put in place the next and most complex phase of the successful Covid-19 vaccination programme.
“Following updated guidance from JCVI, the NHS will shortly set out how staff will expand the booster programme – this will include how booster jabs will be given in priority order so that the most vulnerable people are protected first, while also increasing capacity to vaccinate millions more people in a shorter space of time.
“The NHS will contact you when you are due to book in for your lifesaving booster vaccination, and when you get the call, it’s vital that people come forward as quickly as possible.”
APPOINTMENTS - DON'T MISS IT …. CANCEL IT!!
Due to the rise in local infection rates and the continuing need to protect patients and staff, we will still be asking everyone to wear a face mask after the national restrictions lift on 19th July 2021. The partners feel that this is the safest option for all concerned and is in line with the government recommendations that face coverings should continue to be worn in healthcare settings. The front door will also remain closed to allow for controlled access.
We have a MIND counsellor in Practice every Monday. She is able to offer help and advice to patients and onward referrals if necessary. Initial appointments are available on Monday mornings and further appointments will be made for follow up by the counsellor.
Due to the blood lounge at the Royal Oldham Hospital no longer taking GP patients, only in exceptional circumstances, we are sorry to say that if a consultant now requires bloods taking then they will have to facilitate this themselves. Our surgery can no longer manage the sheer volume of blood requests from other sources. Please make your consultant/specialist aware of this. Thank you
