Patients are advised that information about themselves will be used strictly in accordance with the purpose or purposes for which it has been collected. Patients are advised that the practice is committed to the overall principle of the Data Protection Act, to ensure confidentiality, availability and integrity of patient based data. The practice operates on the principle that confidential information will only be disclosed to other parts of the NHS where it is felt to be in the best interest of the patient.
The practice complies with General Data Protection Regulations and Access to Medical Records legislation. Identifiable information about you may be shared with others in order to provide patients with the care they require.

Reception and administration staff require access to your medical records in order to fulfil their commitment to their job roles. These members of staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the medical staff.
